Maybe if I were from Cleveland, I would be used to this. I would be used to the lack of quality campaign coverage the year of a presidential election. This week's blog assignment to check in with the sites we are following as our "beats" for the semester left me (as usual) frustrated.
After this week's GOP debate, Cleveland.com ran a piece compiling information from other sources, such as Fox, Politico and MSNBC (conveniently my "beat" for JOUR1550), but not doing much of their own coverage.
I keep telling myself the coverage will pick up in Ohio as we approach Super Tuesday. However, March 6 is fast approaching, and I am finding myself asking some crucial questions: What if coverage doesn't increase? Where are the people of Cleveland getting their information about the GOP race now? How are they supposed to know how the issues being debated affect Ohioans?
I hope my questions will be answered in the next week and a half.
