From one crucial primary state to another, the coverage of the South Carolina Primary election on Cleveland.com was done extremely well, if not exceptionally. I would have liked to see a constant stream of events and more original writing, but the coverage was not lacking.
The website updated frequently throughout the day of the election, as well as before and after. Last Friday, Cleveland.com posted a thorough prediction story in which no candidate was endorsed over another, and no winner was prematurely declared, informing and preparing readers.
On Saturday, while I was not able to constantly check the site for updates, I was pleased to find (that evening and the next day), a solid mix of news, analysis and feature/editorial stories concerning the primary. Though I would have appreciated more original content from Plain Dealer reporters themselves, all stories tagged "South Carolina primary" were compiled on one page, making it easy to follow the course of the election from Cleveland.com.
I am excited to follow the coverage of the pivotal Ohio primary on Super Tuesday, March 6, as I hope it will be even more thorough and localize
